A world traveler with a passion for design, construction, and creating meaningful spaces, Marcela Michera is proudly pursuing her dream career as a Real Estate Sales Consultant with Blue Zone Realty International.

Originally from Canada, Marcela began a new chapter in Costa Rica in 2020. After exploring and living in more than fifteen regions across the country, she chose to make Ojochal de Osa her home—where she transformed the ruins of an old house into Casa Sirena, a stunning beach bungalow that blends seamlessly with the surrounding jungle and soaring palm trees. Her meticulous attention to detail turned this once-forgotten structure into a private oasis of easy coastal living.

Drawn equally to the serenity of the mountains, Marcela later embarked on her next project—a self-sustaining off-grid cabin in the highlands of San Vito, Coto Brus. Designed to embrace simplicity and a connection with nature, the cabin captures the essence of waking up in the clouds, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views.

Before moving to Costa Rica, Marcela successfully operated a renovation business in Canada, specializing in uncovering hidden potential in older homes. From restoring a farmhouse with modern comforts to completing multiple full renovations and designing family-friendly living spaces, her experience refined both her creativity and her craftsmanship. Her earlier career in the corporate insurance world provided her with a strong business foundation and an unwavering work ethic.

Marcela’s zest for life extends well beyond real estate. A passionate foodie, self-taught chef, and baker, she and her Costa Rican partner launched Johnny Cakes, a mobile food and catering business that fuses Costa Rican street food with a European twist—delighting beachgoers and event guests alike.

An experienced tour guide throughout Costa Rica, North America, and Central Europe (where her roots lie), Marcela speaks three languages and curates authentic, culture-rich experiences for travelers from around the globe.
